Eileen Mederos, R.N.
Ms. Mederos received her degree in Nursing from the LSU School of Nursing in 1989 and in 1993 Eileen was appointed the first Trauma Coordinator for Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In 2004 Ms. Mederos was honored by the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana Foundation for her accomplishments and outstanding service.
Following the closure of Charity Hospital brought about by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Ms. Mederos was appointed Systems Director for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN), a state agency recently created with the mission of designing, developing and sustaining a statewide trauma and time-sensitive illness network for Louisiana.
In January of 2012, Ms. Mederos joined the LSU Cancer Center team in New Orleans as Program Manager to assist in the expansion and creation of a Clinical Trials network throughout Southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. Eileen is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
Ms. Mederos was appointed to the Health Education Authority of Louisiana (HEAL) Board of Trustees in March of 2013 to represent the LSU Board of Supervisors.
